Day 1
ARRIVAL DAY
Assembling of bikes upon arrival at the lodge. We will spend the afternoon enjoying a small single track loop in the surrounds of Durbanville. A lot of trail fun and new pump tracks await us on Meerendal Winery. The peak of Dorstberg will spoil us with fantastic 360º views of Table Mountain and Robben Island.
Day 2
DURBANVILLE TRAILS
Enjoy a loop on our home grounds. Contermanskloof and the associated Tygerberg Mountainbike trails extend over several wine farms, forming a network of over 70 km of fun. Rocky trails, jeep tracks and sinuous switchbacks dominate the area. A magnificent way to start your trail safari and get used to the African soil.
Day 3
STELLENBOSCH TRAILS / JONKERSHOEK
Sprawling mountains dominate the landscape in this nature reserve. It is a mecca consisting of man made trails and sinuous downhill single switchbacks. After the great fires in March 2015 a lot of new awesome MTB trails were created.
Day 4
PAARL TRAILS - RHEBOKSKLOOF
Named by some as "Best Single Trails in the Western Cape".
Singletrail fun with lunch on the Rhebokskloof winery - then transfer to Wellington.
Day 5
WELLINGTON TRAILS / WELVANPAS
Super G, Lord of the Rings and WTF – just to name a few of the single tracks at Welvanpas. Trails start from the homonymous wine farm and take us through orchards, vineyards and untouched Protea fields, past waterfalls to the peak of Groenenberg. Get your adrenaline going while you take the steep Cool Runnings descent to the Kromme River....
Day 6
WELLINGTON TRAILS / WELVANPAS
The second part of the route takes us towards Bainskloof Pass and from there back to the farm on flow tracks built into the steep slopes of the foothills of Bainskloof. 75 % of Day 5&6 consist of single trails . The breathtaking sunset views from the edge of the infinity pool of our private farm stay will give a perfect ending to your day out in the mountains. After the second day on the trails, transfer to the rocky Cederberg mountains of Ceres.
Day 7
CEDERBERG & KALEO
Evening transfer from Welvanpas to Eselsfontein. This route literally rocks! Two days of adventure in the Koue Bokkeveld Mountains - a mountain range which links Ceres and Citrusdal. MTB insiders call the 45 km single track Velocipede ecstasy.
Day 8
CEDERBERG & KALEO
Encounters are rare, the trails are off the beaten track, the views fantastic and the rock formations impressive – to say the least. Back at the lodge, gaze into the starry night while chilling in front of the fire. Put your feet up, refuel and enjoy the African Experience!
Day 9
FOODIE / CITY TOUR
The description of Cape Town on Condé Nast Traveler's site reads, "In Cape Town, ‘local’ rules. The Mother city is smallish, casual but supremely stylish, and welcoming — words that describe its artisanal foods and restaurant scenes as much as its citizens". We couldn’t have put it better. As we all know, refuelling goes one in one with mountain biking - so if you’re addicted to your wheels you are probably as much a foodie as we are. Let this day be a feast for your taste buds.
Day 10
DEPARTURE DAY
Enjoy the last breakfast at the Surf & Bike Hotel with homemade bread and muesli before you get your gear flight-ready. If you would like to extend your South Africa experience, we are happy to assist you with suggestions anytime.
